Abstract

A complete genome assembly of Brosimum alicastrum (Rosales: Moraceae) is reported here, providing an important genomic resource for research on tropical forest ecology, evolution, and conservation.

Methods

Leaf tissue was collected from a healthy tree in Becerril, Cesar (Colombia) and immediately dried in silica gel. A voucher specimen (GAS 1808) was prepared and deposited in the Herbario Nacional Colombiano (COL) under the accession number COL632209. Geographic coordinates and collection data were recorded for the specimen.

Funding

Funding was provided by Iridian Genomes, grant# IRGEN_RG_2021-1345 Genomic Studies of Eukaryotic Taxa.

Acknowledgments

Fieldwork was conducted under a scientific research permit for the collection of wild specimens of biological diversity for non-commercial purposes issued by the Colombian Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development (MADS) under Agreement 00697 (18 April 2024). The sample was exported for sequencing under export permit 00403 granted by the National Environmental Licensing Authority (ANLA) of Colombia.
